Today Bobby and I took Caleb swimming for the first time. We were joined by our friends, Mandy and Matthew, along with their daughter, Colette. Mandy’s sister, Tawny, and her husband Dwight were also there along with their almost one year old boy, Wesley. Caleb loved being in the water. Unfortunately it was a little cold so we didn’t stay in for too long.

Colette was born just 3 days before Caleb.

Spring is here

“Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad, let the sea resound, and all that is in it; let the fields be jubilant, and everything in them. Then all the trees of the forest will sing for joy; they will sing before the Lord.”

-Psalm 96:11-13

Today was an absolutely gorgeous day. It was sunny, only slightly breezy and in the 60’s. Ah. I love Washington on days like today.

Caleb and I hung out in the backyard for awhile. It was so nice. He loved it. I loved it. I am ready for summer.

Kimo kept stealing his sticks:

Our little Princess

Have you met our “other dog”? If not, please let me introduce you to Princess:

Princess joined our family right before Caleb entered the world. In fact she came to live with us on the day that I went into labor. She’s a pretty weird dog. In fact she has serious attachment issues and follows me everywhere. When I say everywhere I really mean EVERYWHERE.  She’s mostly sweet. And the coolest thing about her: she smiles. Seriously smiles. In that picture above she’s not being ferocious. She’s just smiling at her favorite person around. Me.

Oh yeah, and she’s one lucky dog as well. If we hadn’t taken her in she would have most likely died in the recent house fire that destroyed my parent’s home in North Dakota.

The stats.

On Friday Caleb had his 6 month checkup. I thought I’d post all his “stats” so far.

  • Birth:  7lbs 13 oz., 20inches
  • 2 weeks: 8lbs 14oz., 21 1/2 inches
  • 2 months: 12lbs 2 1/2 oz., 24 inches
  • 4 months: 15lbs, 26 inches
  • 6 months: 17lbs, 27 3/4 inches

Caleb is currently in the 50 percentile for weight and the 70 percentile for height.

And no more shots for another 6 months (big yay!)!

What blog post could be complete without a cute picture?

I seriously love that baby butt.

6 months!

Today Caleb is 6 months old! I can’t believe that it’s already been half a year. The time has flown by so quickly. He’s growing and developing at such a rapid, amazing rate.

Is it too soon to start planning his first birthday party?

Happy Birthday, Grandma Myra!

Happy Birthday to you,

Happy Birthday to you,

Happy Birthday dear Myyyyyra,

Happy Birthday to YOU!

I wish we were there to help you celebrate the big 5-0. Love you tons! 🙂

Yesterday I babysat a friend’s daughter, Alyssa, as her childcare provider was away on vacation. I was a little nervous about how the day would go with 2 little ones. However, things were much easier than I’d anticipated. Mostly due to the fact that Alyssa is likely the most easy going 16 month old that has ever existed.

It was fun watching Caleb and Alyssa “play” together.

I just wanted to post a few short and extremely cute video’s that I’ve captured of Caleb over the past few weeks.

Hi! This video is a little longer and mostly just of Caleb playing, and me attempting to get him to say “Hi,” or “Hey”.. which he occasionally does! He finally says “Hi” around 2:35 into the video. Obviously he has no idea what he’s saying but it’s still super cute, and very funny. Hopefully I’ll be able to get a better video of him talking in the near future.

This video is from about 2 weeks ago. Its just of Caleb playing and being incredibly adorable.

I meant to post this video a few weeks ago, but didn’t get around to it until now.

This next video is just too cute. Unfortunately Bobby had to ruin the moment with his “playful shove” at the end.

And the last video for today is of our little musician. He seriously loves this toy.

a trip to the park

Today it was a surprisingly gorgeous, sunny and rather warm day. Our friends, Jason and Michelle, came over along with their daughter, Alyssa. We decided to make a trip to our neighborhood park.

Of course Caleb and Alyssa had to go on the baby swings. They both loved swinging!

Alyssa loved going down the slides.

Here’s a video of Caleb going down the slide with a little help from his Daddy:

Caleb started to get tired and was grabbing at his face.. and well he ended up pulling his hat down over his eyes and nose!

Alright. Enough of this- Take me home, Daddy!!! 🙂
