Living room makeover (Part 1 of ???)

When we first purchased our house about 2 1/2 years ago we needed some living room furniture. At the time we didn’t have a lot of money to spend of furniture. So being the bargain shopper that I am I found a few simple pieces of furniture that I liked at IKEA. Then I watched Craigslist until I found my desired couch and loveseat set. I purchased them for quite a steal of a deal and proceeded to  buy new slipcovers at IKEA to make them look almost new. They were nice for awhile, but being rather cheap quality the cushions all became warped from our animals resting on them.. and well, over time I just began desiring something a little nicer.

When we found out we were getting a rather nice tax refund this year I asked Bobby if I could purchase new living room furniture. He agreed,  and  I finally found a cute sofa and loveseat set at Ashley furniture store. And just this last Sunday we placed an order for it. The new furniture is scheduled to arrive on March 1st.

So, after placing our order Bobby put our IKEA couch and loveseat up for sale on Craigslist. I figured it would take some time to get rid of them and we didn’t have to worry about being furniture less.. at least not for too long. However, about 3 hours after the ad went up a woman emailed Bobby saying she wanted both pieces of furniture and payed our full asking price for them! I bought the couches almost 3 years ago and we sold them for nearly their purchase price plus the cost of the new slipcovers.

Only downside…. our current sparsely furnished living room.
